Safer Surfing For Internet Explorer Users

The threat of spyware and other harmful software is ever greater these days. Some people have abandoned Internet Explorer in favour of other less vulnerable browsers, such as Firefox, Opera etc, but I refuse to be intimidated by such exploits and thanks to a new application from Microsoft I can continue to surf with Internet Explorer in relative safety.

Microsoft Windows AntiSpyware (Beta) is a security technology that helps protect Internet Exporer users from spyware and other potentially harmful software.

Spyware is auto-detected and you have the choice to 'Allow, Block or Permanently Remove' the offending software. This helps reduce negative effects caused by spyware, including slow PC performance, annoying pop-up ads, unwanted changes to Internet settings, and unauthorized use of your private information.
Continuous protection improves Internet browsing safety by preventing more than 50 ways that spyware can enter your PC. Participants in the worldwide SpyNet community play a key role in determining which suspicious programs are classified as spyware. Microsoft researchers quickly develop methods to counteract these threats, and updates can be automatically or manually downloaded to your PC so you stay up to date.

For those of you who are still using Internet Explorer (IE), I highly recommend that you go download this FREE application from Microsoft now (get it HERE). You will be invited to Authenticate your OS (Operating System), the choice to do so is yours and refusal will not prevent you from downloading Microsoft Windows Antispyware (Beta).

I have visited a number of Blogs that have tried to install Trojans and Spyware on my PC, but Microsoft Windows Antispyware (Beta) Alerted me to the threat (which I would otherwise have known nothing about) and prevented my system from being circumvented.

Surf in safety, get yourself protected.

Hey Tony!

I've been using the Microsoft Antispyware program for a few weeks now, and I must say that I love it. I use to use anti-trojan and adaware, and they still didn't catch half the stuff that was going on.

I even tried using mozilla and opera. Well I don't like them very much. It meant having to tweak everything that I had created for my journal and that just was a huge pain! And regardless of what people claim, sites made for opera and mozilla are not compatible with IE. There are soooo many error messages that pop up when trying to browse some of these "compatible" sites that I just close my window so I don't have to click for 10 minutes.

Thanks for trying to educate others! (Just wish they would take things into consideration instead of being stubborn!)

In reply to the comment left by 'Inginuity ' ...

I have found other browsers to be a pain in the butt for comaptibilty etc, also no browser is completely impervious to malicious attacks.

In response to your comment on the Windows Update and Firewall ....I'm betting you're happily using a version of MS Windows regardless of your choice of browser.

It may be of interest to you that my Stats show that 67% of the hits on my blog are using IE ..and a whopping 92% are using Windows XP.
